Metal Wall Art is a varied and dynamic genre. As it evolves as a medium, it reflects a great diversity of style and becomes more and more popular moving into colorful abstract art and other styles.

* Owning metal wall decor often indicates a taste for contemporary or modern wall decor and that's where I fit in. My metal wall art mimics my taste in art.

* I love the clean lines and often soft but very texture rich brush / grinder strokes that bounce light in every direction. My metal wall art and decor are, of course, a direct and unique expression of ME. It's a fantastic and fulfilling way to make a living.

* Whether we're talking about a piece of abstract metal wall art or very colorful and eclectic contemporary metal wall art, there is a distinct look that can only be portrayed with metal (mostly aluminum in my case).

When I start designing a metal wall decor piece, I really try to keep a few ideas strong in my mind:

* 1. I firmly believe that abstract metal wall art should be dynamic. By that I mean it should continually change and reflect as the viewing angle and light change. I make it my first priority to bring this metal wall piece to life. It should literally dance in the light.

* To achieve this look, I apply many texture layers with different brushes and pads. Texture is the most important aspect of my work. It's literally what keeps me motivated and inspired to produce more metal wall art and decor.

* Each of my personalized wall hangings is unique and unusual in it's own way - you can't duplicate the vitality each possesses. Different types of metals (mainly aluminum, steel, and copper in my case) have the unique ability to convey texture in extraordinary ways. Whether the grind pattern is behind a translucent color or in the "raw", this beautiful look and feel is what makes metal wall art so special.

* 2. The constantly changing and dynamic properties that are modern abstract art make the genre wide open for creative minds. When I get into the shop with my sketch in hand, it's very important to remember that the "happy accident" is my friend. I think some of my best metal wall decor sculptures came out of a screw up of some sort. I learn so much from moments where things don't go as planned. It's funny - I now plan on creating something unexpected on a regular basis.

* I try not to limit myself and my creative experience to outcomes that are always preplanned and expected. That's why I try to keep perfectionism at bay when I'm in the shop just so I don't squash one of those pivotal moments when something amazing emerges out of my wall mount metal art work. I trust the creative process to bring my perceptions and experiences into reality.

* It's not always easy, but we must each find ways to express ourselves outside of the "normal" goings on. It's easy to get trapped into thinking that we are our thoughts, but, alas, we are so much more. The act of creating abstract wall art, etc. lets me get out of my head and into that current that underlies all this stuff we call reality.

Color Stability: If you're worried that my colors will fade, THEY WON'T. They are very stable and UV resistant so fading is not an issue.

Ease of Hanging: Each of my metal wall art sculptures has a unique hanging system welded onto the back which makes it very easy to mount to any wall.

Weight of My Wall Decor: As I use mainly aluminum for my decorative wall pieces, they are rather light. They look heavy but aren't.

A Little Bit Of My Philosophy

There are some fantastic metal artists out there and there have been many before us. Many state that they invented "grinding aluminum panels" or they invented a certain grind pattern. The fact is, hundreds and thousands of metal workers out there have used those grind patterns/styles-we all have and we all do.
